CHICAGO (WLS) -- The commission investigating a 2010 anti-violence program will hold its next hearing for testimony from Quinn administration officials on Oct. 8, prior to the November elections, officials said.

The legislative commission's decision to continue subpoenas for the seven employees honors a U.S. Department of Justice request that the commission delay its hearings for 90 days as to not interfere with a federal investigation.

The new hearing, however, comes weeks before the November election, a decision that is divided down party lines.

One of seven subpoenaed Quinn administration officials appeared at the commission's hearing Wednesday, as five others sent lawyers citing the U.S. Department of Justice's request.

The bipartisan commission is investigating the governor's 2010 Neighborhood Recovery Initiative, a $55 million anti-violence program that a state audit found was mismanaged.
