'Suspicious person' found dead in water near Twin Lakes park, Palatine police say

PALATINE, Ill. (WLS) -- Palatine police are investigating after a man who was reported as "suspicious" was found dead in a body of water Monday.

It happened at about 6:11 p.m. in the 1200 block of E. Twin Lakes Drive near the popular Twin Lakes park area, police said.

Officers responded to calls of a "suspicious person."

As police tried to make contact with the man, police said he went into a nearby body of water and did not resurface.

He was later found in the water and was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounce dead.

No other information was available.
