ABC7 director Jef Kos retires after nearly 40 years

CHICAGO (WLS) -- ABC7's Jef Kos directed his final 10 p.m. newscast on Tuesday night. He's retiring after nearly 40 years at the station.

Jef started in the mailroom back in 1976, worked his way up to director and has helped navigate many changes in technology over the years.

There was a time when several people were in the director's booth with him. Now, it's pretty much just Jef -- and a complicated computer system that he had to learn in the late stages of his career.
