Boys get surprise as dad returns home from Afghanistan

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (WLS) -- Two boys who thought they would see some jousting during a visit to Medieval Times Friday night got a big surprise from their dad, back from Afghanistan.

Petty Officer Steve Hallock stood quietly as his sons were pulled from the crowd. They had no idea their dad was standing right behind them until he removed his hood.

Hallock says the surprise went better than he could have imagined. Still, he was nervous.

"I'm still shaking a little bit, but to spend time with my boys is just.... I've been looking forward to this for a long time," he said.

This wasn't the only surprise for the boys. Hallock says they're taking off for Disney World on Sunday.
