The Chicago Walk to End Alzheimer's kicks off Sunday, Sept. 28.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- It is estimated more than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's. The Alzheimer's Association's mission is to eliminate the disease through research, provide and enhance care and support for all affected, and promote brain health. The organization is raising funds at its Walks to End Alzheimer's on Sept. 28, including one at Montrose Harbor in Chicago.

ABC 7 Eyewitness News is a media sponsor, and anchor Alan Krashesky is the emcee. He joined us live from the walk during our Sunday morning news with Erna Colborn, president and CEO of the Alzheimer's Association Greater Illinois Chapter, to tell us about the event and the cause it supports.
