A wreath laying ceremony begins at 11 a.m. at Daley Plaza before the parade. Brigadier General Alicia A. Tate-Nadeau of the Illinois National Guard will serve as the parade's Grand Marshal. She is the Illinois National Guard's first female general. The 2015 parade will mark the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II. The City of Chicago will give special recognition to the challenges faced by the "Greatest Generation."
