CHICAGO (WLS) -- This year's Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parade will feature a float from the city's first medical marijuana clinic.

Good Intentions from Wicker Park will be in the State Street parade Thursday morning, its float featuring "a garden of flowers in bloom," including onion grass and flowers beneath a 12-foot-long banner reading, "Growing With Illinois."

While clinic staff will be throwing out goodies to kids, marijuana lovers need not clamor around the float.

"There are no marijuana plants on the float," a representative of ABC Parade Floats said.

Illinois legalized medical use of marijuana in August 2013 and is now one of 23 states that have legalized medical marijuana.
