'Day of the Dead' tradition has Mexican roots

CHICAGO -- The celebration of the "Day of the Dead" tradition has roots in both ancient American religious rituals of the indigenous people of Mexico, Central and South America and in the Catholicism brought to Mexico by the Spanish.
