San Diego police "detained" a baby seal that had wandered from the beach to a nearby high school.

Sheriff's deputies managed to secure the seal in the back of their patrol car until animal control officers and Sea World employees arrived to take it to safety.

The seal had apparently slunk five blocks from the sea to Mar Vista High School in Imperial Beach, California, according to ABC News.

"While Deputy Sheriffs attempted to interview him as to his activities, he clammed up and requested his lawyer," police said in a news release.
