DuSable Museum hosts Night of 100 Stars

One of the most popular social events every year in Chicago returns on Saturday, June 25, 2016. The DuSable Museum of African American History hosts the Night of 100 Stars at the museum located at 740 East 56th Place in Chicago. This year a portion of the event will take place in the Roundhouse, which is the Museum's latest expansion project. The event begins at 6:00 PM with cocktails and appetizers, followed by the Awards Presentation at 7:00 PM and conclude with dinner, dancing and entertainment. Once again serving as hosts for the Awards Presentation are Val Warner of Windy City Live! and Charles Thomas, ABC7 Political Reporter.

During the event, influential individuals have received the DuSable Museum History Makers Award. The award honors African American Chicagoans who make outstanding contributions to society through their careers and civic engagement. This year's recipients are ABC 7 Anchor Cheryl Burton, Civil Rights Attorney James D. Montgomery, and Professor Emeritus at Columbia University Charles V. Hamilton. President and CEO of the DuSable Museum of African American History, Perri Irmer, joined ABC7's Weekend Morning Show to talk about the Night of 100 Stars and its impact on the community.
