Fifth Third Bank hosting Veterans Day of Appreciation
CHICAGO (WLS) -- Veterans Day is November 11, 2016 and Fifth Third Bank is hosting a variety of events to show appreciation. Teaming up with Lakeshore PAWS in Valapraiso, Indiana, the Pets 4 Vets event will provide dogs at no cost to active duty and Veterans of the United States Armed Forces. Veterans can pick up a new furry family members from 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at 4611 Evans Avenue in Valparaiso.
Fifth Third Bank is also hosting its 3rd Annual Veterans Day Hiring and Resource Fair at Navy Pier. 25 Local companies will be actively hiring on-site. There will also be Veteran service and support organizations from around the Chicago area on hand giving out information.
Jeanne Sommer, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Lakeshore PAWS, and Steve Watts from Fifth Third Bank visited ABC 7's State Street Studios with a few adoptable dogs hoping to find a new home with our Veterans.
