Girl Scouts celebrate Thanksgiving with young cancer patients at UIC Children's Hospital

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Local Girl Scouts celebrated Thanksgiving with young cancer patients at UIC Children's Hospital.

Along with other groups, the Girl Scouts of Chicago and northwest Indiana attended a party with the hospital's pediatric oncology patients over the weekend.

ABC7's Roz Varon, who attended the event, said girls who may not have had the opportunity to join a local Girl Scout troop before were also given a chance to take the oath at the party.
