Green Tie Ball dedicated to beautifying Chicago

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Green was the color of the night as thousands turned out in for the 23rd Green Tie Ball.

The event raises funds and awareness for an organization dedicated to greening and beautifying Chicago's expressways, gateways and communities.

Windy City Live hosts Ryan Chiaverini and Val Warner emceed the event, which was held at UIC.

The theme for Saturday night's ball was "The Great Gatsby."
