Holocaust museum honors 2 influential figures

Hundreds of Holocaust survivors gathered in Chicago to honor two influential figures.

The U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum paid tribute to Clementine Wamariya for her work preserving the holocaust memory, as well as the late Elie Wiesel, who was the museum's founding chairman.

Governor Rauner said it's important to honor the past and strengthen Holocaust education in schools.

More than 2,500 people were in attendance at Wednesday's event. Money raised benefits the Holocaust memorial museum and national mall in Washington D.C.
