CHICAGO (WLS) -- Four fallen Chicago police officers were honored Wednesday night. Though their sacrifices were made long ago, they have not been forgotten.

Their names were added to the wall at the Gold Star Families Memorial and Park.

Among them was Detective Nicholas Connelly, who survived a shootout in 1936. He died years later, but research conducted by the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation found that his death and those of the other three officers came in the line of duty.
