Military dad reunites with son on baseball field
Joe Amore returned home from an Air Force deployment just in time to see his son throw out the first pitch Friday night at the Kane County Cougar?s game.

GENEVA, Ill. (WLS) -- A boy and his military father shared a special moment on a baseball field in west suburban Geneva Friday night.

Joe Amore returned home from an Air Force deployment just in time to see his son throw out the first pitch Friday night at the Kane County Cougars game.

The catch is, Anthony thinks his dad is coming home in two weeks.

As Anthony warmed up, Joe sat in disguise in the dugout. He'll be playing catcher.

After a few practice pitches from Batman and Captain America, the real-super hero was up.

"Did you know I was coming home?" Joe asks his son.

"No," Anthony said. Even after the pitch, Anthony glared at Dad knowing he was tricked.

"Sports is everything for us. When I was overseas for seven months, I called and talked about Northwestern football, Chicago Blackhawks, the Cubs, so I figured I wanted to do something cool when I came home," Joe said.
