CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Red Cross honored some Chicago-area heroes Thursday, whose bravery made Chicago proud.

Among those being honored with a Hero's Medal was Charmin BoClaire.

She was just 9 years old last October when she helped rescue her entire family from their burning home in the south suburbs, including her mother who had been injured in the fire.

Charmin and her siblings are being cared for by their aunt while their mother recovers from her injuries.
