Factors including number of Irish pubs per capita, average beer price, forecasted weather on the holiday itself and lowest price of a three-star hotel on St. Patrick's Day to determine the rankings.

2016's Best Cities for St. Patrick's Day Celebrations
1. Boston
2. Buffalo, N.Y.
3. Omaha, Neb.
4. Philadelphia
5. Pittsburgh
6. Tampa, Fla.
7. Madison, Wis.
8. Lincoln, Neb.

Wallethub's research shows though that just because you live in a big city, doesn't necessarily mean that it's a good city to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. New York and Los Angeles ranked below 30 on the list, with each city lacking in affordable St. Patrick's Day amenities. Chicago was tied with Kansas City for the most amount of St. Patrick's Day parties and festivals per capita, but the Windy City still had the highest beer prices out of any location on the list.

Cities like Seattle and St. Louis praised for their amount of Irish Pubs and restaurant and access to bars, while sunny spots like Orlando and Albuquerque, N.M. were celebrated for their affordable St. Patrick's Day offerings.

If you're looking for a safe place to celebrate the holiday, Boise, Idaho and Irvine, Calif. were praised for their low crime rates and number of DUI-related incidents.
