United Way launches neighborhood networks
United Way of Metropolitan Chicago has a new program focusing on community development.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- United Way of Metropolitan Chicago has a new program focusing on community development. The Neighborhood Network works with partners in each community to supply resources in education, income and health in a central location to 58 communities in need.

The network allows families to receive quality programs under one roof. Services include pre-school expansion, parent-mentor programs, volunteer tax assistance and more.

To talk more about the programs, Wendy DuBoe, president and CEO of United Way of Metropolitan Chicago, and Jennifer Ruiz, parent mentor coordinator at Shields Middle School, joined ABC 7 live in our State Street studios.
