DIXMOOR, Ill. (WLS) -- Hundreds of volunteers turned out Saturday to build a new place for kids to play in the southern suburbs.

The Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois teamed up with "Kaboom" to construct its 22nd playground in the state.

It was built for the students of Lincoln Elementary School and kids in the Dixmoor area.

It also includes six vegetable gardens, four flower beds, picnic tables, and an outdoor classroom.

Nearly 300 volunteers helped in the build.
