CHICAGO (WLS) -- In honor of Memorial Day weekend, a wreath-laying ceremony and parade were held Saturday in Chicago to remember the servicemen and service women who died while serving in the country's armed forces.
The wreath-laying ceremony began at 11 a.m. in Daley Plaza. At noon, people lined the streets of State and Lake streets for the city's Memorial Day Parade. Lt. General Robert S. Walsh served as the parade's Grand Marshal.
Also on Saturday, Jim Frazier, survivor outreach services coordinator for the U.S. Army, Northern Illinois and Lt. General Walsh visited ABC7 to encourage everyone to take part in this weekend of remembrance.
