CHICAGO (WLS) -- Inspired by the success of the Jackie Robinson West All-Stars, the city is launching a crowdfunding campaign to help bring baseball and softball to more inner city kids.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel and the Chicago Park District kicked off "Play Ball Chicago" on Monday.

The goal of the campaign is to raise $125,000 in an effort to ensure that America's favorite pastime continues to grow in Chicago's parks.
