CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Chicago Cubs canceled their Saturday home game against the Atlanta Braves at Wrigley Field due to forecasted inclement weather throughout the day, the team said.

The team announced the cancellation on their Twitter shortly before 10:30 a.m. A make-up date is still to be determined.

Saturday's weather is expected to be cold, with steady rain starting late morning and continuing throughout the day. Pockets of heavy rain could develop in the afternoon and evening. Winds gusting to 25 mph are also expected.

John Lackey had been scheduled to start for the Cubs, while the Braves planned to send Julio Teheran to the mound.

At 17-5, the Cubs have the best record in baseball. They are on their best 22-game start since the 1907 team was 18-4.

The Braves are 5-18 after losing to the Cubs 6-1 on Friday night.
