CHICAGO (WLS) -- Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane have signed eight-year contract extensions with the Blackhawks, team officials said.

The contracts for both players will run through the 2022-2023 season, officials said Wednesday.

Both Toews and Kane were with the Blackhawks through both of the team's Stanley Cup championships in 2010 and 2013. Toews, 26, has been the youngest captain in Blackhawks history since 2008. Kane, 25, was named NHL Rookie of the Year in 2008.
