COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State wide receiver Torrance Gibson has been suspended for the season due to a violation of the school's student code of conduct.

Once among the nation's most coveted recruits at quarterback, Gibson shifted positions after arriving on campus last year for the Buckeyes. There was a logjam on the depth chart at quarterback, and he possesses dynamic athleticism and size. The transition hasn't been smooth either on the field or off. Gibson was previously suspended for a game during his redshirt season a year ago.

Ohio State has not commented on the nature of the violation. Coach Urban Meyer is set to address the media during his weekly press conference on Monday.
