UIC hosts youth baseball, softball tournament

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Mayor Rahm Emanuel swung by the city's youth baseball and softball tournament Saturday.

UIC is hosting 30 baseball teams and six softball teams, all for kids. They are playing in leagues from across Chicago this weekend.

The mayor says the tournament complements the city's investment in parks.

Both championship games take place Sunday afternoon.

The tournament is made possible through donations by the Chicago Cubs and White Sox.
