CHICAGO (WLS) -- Just about every company has an app, website or online presence. And now a new program in Chicago is giving children the tools they need to compete for jobs in a digital world.

CoderDojoChi is a volunteer not for profit that teaches web, game, and app development to youth ages 7-17. Through classes and interactions with IT professionals, students gain hands-on experience. The classes are 100 percent free to attend.

CEO and founder of CoderDojoChi, Ali Karbassi, and student Evan Yeager visited the ABC 7 studios to talk about the program.
