iPhone 6 release in Chicago
People camped out overnight - and longer- for the first chance at the latest iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Apple's iPhone 6 and 6 Plus went on sale in Chicago and around the world on Friday.

For big time Apple fans, that means lining up early. Some people even camped out overnight in an attempt to be the first to get the phones. Marc Cain and his buddies took it even further. They lined up Wednesday, and camped out until the doors at the Michigan Avenue Apple store opened at 8 a.m. Friday.

"Two days, two phones. It was worth it," Cain said.

Both of Chicago's Apple stores, the other store is in Lincoln Park, opened at 8 a.m. for the Friday release. They'll remain open until 9 p.m., but employees warn there are a limited number of phones for sale.

Shane Wasilkoff has about 100 people in line ahead of him. He said it might as well be a million.

The iPhone 6 sports a larger screen, which makes it more attractive to some customers, like Android phone user Andrea Hernandez. She's buying an iPhone 6-plus for her kids.
