CHICAGO (WLS) -- Commercial truck drivers will have to pay more to use Illinois' toll roads next year. Many trucking companies are planning to increase delivery rates in response.

Rates for large trucks are expected to increase 40 percent in 2015. The toll increase applies to commercial trucks and vehicles pulling a two- or three-axle trailer. Cars and motorcycles are not affected.

The Rockford Register Star reports that A&B Freight Line is among them. It expects to spend as much as $5,000 more each month because of the tolls.

Jeff Wilmarth, A&B's director of marketing and traffic, says the company's customers are in the Chicago area and that secondary roads wouldn't be efficient.
