BURR RIDGE, Ill. (WLS) -- All lanes on the outbound Stevenson Expressway (I-55) have reopened at County Line Road after a hazardous materials situation in west suburban Burr Ridge, state police said.
The Tri-State Fire Protection District Chief said ammonia chloride leaked out of a truck during the Tuesday evening rush. Ammonia chloride is hazardous to the skin, eyes, respiratory and digestion systems.
All lanes of the outbound Stevenson were closed at County Line Road for hours, as crews cleaned up the spill. They were back open around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.
No one was hurt.
