Cement truck overturns on Dan Ryan, lands on car near 47th Street

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The inbound local lanes of the Dan Ryan have reopened after a cement truck overturned Friday afternoon on the South Side.

The truck tipped over and landed on a Chevy Cavalier near 47th Street sometime after 1 p.m., authorities said, bringing traffic to a standstill for several hours.

One person was taken to Mercy Hospital in fair condition, and another was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, officials said. A third person was reportedly taken to Mercy Hospital with minor injuries.
