CHICAGO (WLS) -- This weekend, state police will keep a close watch out for dangerous drivers on I-90/94 as part of a massive public safety initiative.

Illinois State Police are joining officers from 15 states all with access to I-90 and I-94. They'll be focusing much of their attention on drivers of commercial vehicles.

"The main part we're gonna do is check, make sure there is no fatigued driving. Hours of service, log books, if you will. Qualifications, medically qualified, we're gonna be checking all of that during this week up on that stretch," said Master Sgt. Todd Armstrong, Illinois State Police.

State police will also be on the lookout for speeding, DUI, seatbelts and distracted driving.
