CTA: Switching problem repaired after morning Loop delays

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A switching problem at Wabash and Van Buren that delayed elevated CTA trains in the Loop during the morning rush has been repaired, the CTA said Monday afternoon.

Normal operations are expected for the afternoon commute.

Brown, Green, Orange, Pink and Purple Line trains experienced major delays after a switching problem at Wabash and Van Buren around 8 a.m. Monday. The congestion cleared around 9:30 a.m.

Orange Line trains were rerouted to the Outer Loop, but have since returned to normal operations. Purple Line Express trains were rerouted to the subway, but have also returned to normal operations.
