Pedestrian struck at Chicago and LaSalle in River North

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 23-year-old man stepped out into traffic at the intersection of Chicago Avenue and LaSalle Drive in Chicago's River North neighborhood and was struck by an oncoming vehicle around 5 a.m. Tuesday.

The intersection of Chicago Avenue and LaSalle Drive was closed to traffic for about two hours as police investigated the crash.

The man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.

No tickets have been issued.
