5 CTA Blue Line stations to undergo modernization

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Five CTA Blue Line stations are about to get big makeovers.

The CTA is getting ready to rehab the Addison, Irving Park, Montrose, Harlem and Cumberland stations in the next phase of its O'Hare branch modernization program.

The transit board approved a more than $25 million contract for the project Wednesday.

Design work gets underway soon with construction expected in the fall. The CTA says all the work will be substantially done by the fall of next year.
