Delta pilot's spat with air traffic controller
A tense moment between an air traffic controller and a pilot at the nation's busiest airport was caught on tape.

ATLANTA (WLS) -- A tense moment between an air traffic controller and a pilot at the nation's busiest airport was caught on tape. Things got very heated as the plane is taxiing to take off from Atlanta's airport.

Air Traffic Controller: "I don't have an attitude sir, I'm just saying its looks like you joined Lima instead of Mike. And I'm just trying to correct you before it - you stay on Lima."

Pilot: "Ok 'cause my God there's another plane out there it's like 6 miles away."

It started when an air traffic controller told a pilot he rolled onto the wrong taxiway at Atlanta's Hartsfield Airport- Taxiway L, which they call Lima, instead of Taxiway M, which they call Mike. And the pilot doesn't stop.

Pilot: "Your attitude is really something sir, we're out here on Mike. Good morning."

Air Traffic Controller: "Good morning, there was no attitude I was just trying to correct you. It's my job to correct you if you mess up."

Pilot: Alright I make a mistake every 2-3 minutes but my attitude is not like yours. Route on Mike. And you didn't tell us how to get there so next time you can try doing that."

Safety was never a concern here, but Delta Airlines tells ABC News they are looking into the exchange and that "Delta's values call for courtesy and professionalism in everything we do."
