WAUKEGAN, Ill. (WLS) -- An Amber Alert was canceled after two children from Zion were found safe.

Police say the girl, 4, and boy, 3, were with their parents at the Public Defender's Office in Waukegan, Ill., when their father drove off. Their mother has custody.

Their mother was filing a report of domestic battery around 9 a.m. when Dejavante Finley, 23, drove off with the children, police said. Zion police said they believe Finley was going to be the subject of the domestic battery report, and he feared officials would show up to take him into custody. Zion police said Finley is wanted on at least two outstanding felony warrants.

The Amber Alert was canceled when the children were found safe.
