Van crashes into Harvey firehouse

HARVEY, Ill. (WLS) -- A person is injured after a van crashed into a firehouse in south suburban Harvey Saturday.

Sources on the scene said the driver of the van was hurt when his vehicle crashed into the firehouse's kitchen area.

Crews spent part of the night getting the vehicle out of the building.

Harvey Police Department spokesperson Sean Howard said the driver was taken to the hospital for observation and citations will be forthcoming.

It is not yet known what caused the driver to crash.
