New video released Thursday shows the moments leading up to a police shooting on Chicago's Northwest Side.

The Independent Police Review Authority released this dash camera video from the July 16 incident.

It happened during a traffic stop in the 2800-block of North Mulligan Avenue after police said they observed a vehicle commit a traffic stop at about 3:07 a.m.

Police said officers fired shots after realizing one of the passengers had a gun. An 18-year-old was shot but was not seriously hurt.

An officer and a sergeant fired their weapons and no officers were injured. A weapon was recovered from the scene, police said.

The officers involved in the shooting were placed on desk duty for 30 days.
