LAKE TEXOMA, Texas -- An unusual sight is getting a lot of attention in Texas. A swirling vortex opened up in Lake Texoma near the Oklahoma border.
The Army Corp of Engineers said the hole is 8-feet in diameter and capable of sucking in a full-size boat.
What caused the vortex? Engineers opened floodgates at the bottom of the lake to allow excess water to flow into a river and the vortex is just like the whirlpool seen when draining a bathtub.
