Chicago Weather: Snowfall expected Sunday; advisory issued
After an unseasonably warm November, one to three inches of slushy snow is headed to the Chicago area on Sunday -- the first measurable snow of the season.
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Most of the area will be impacted, but not extend into northwest Indiana.
The snow will start to fall west of the Fox River between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. Most of the area will start to see snow mid-morning and intensify through the afternoon.
Temperatures will be a few degrees above freezing, so the snow is expected to melt as it falls to the ground.
The snow is expected to be done by sunset.
November was the Chicago area's 7th warmest on record, but winter is here.
After Sunday, the next several days will feel more like a typical December.
Monday and Tuesday is expected to see temperatures in the mid 40s, but Wednesday could bring the coldest weather the Chicago area has seen since mid-February.

SNOW PREP
In preparation for the snow, the city of Chicago was revving up its fleet of snow plows and salt trucks on Saturday. All those trucks will salt many of the main roads late Saturday and early Sunday to stay ahead of the falling snow.
