ELGIN, Ill. (WLS) -- Classes will resume Monday for three suburban Elgin schools in School District U-46 where the Legionella bacteria was found in the cooling systems, school officials said.

Nineteen of the district's cooling towers were drained and flushed four times to recommended levels. The school also says two additional sanitizing shocks are scheduled at the three closed buildings Saturday.

Eastview Middle School, Larking High School and the Educational Services Center were evacuated and closed Wednesday after higher-than normal levels of the bacteria were discovered during air quality testing.

Educational Services Center houses Gifford Street middle and high schools and the Central Schools Program.
