Oswego East was founded in 2004. In the first year, there were 740 total students in the building.

For the 2015-2016 school year, there are 2,466 students enrolled. The freshman class alone had 750 students.

Oswego East offers 31 Advanced Placement courses, 11 dual credit courses and 18 opportunities for articulated credit.

There are also ten academic honors societies.

In 2015, 40 students were designated AP Scholars, 12 were designated AP Scholars with Honors, 14 Students were designated AP Scholars with Distinction and one student was recognized as a National AP Scholar.

East has a graduation rate of 95 percent. The graduating class of 2015 reported $6.2 million awarded in scholarships.

On top of this, students volunteered 19,000 hours of community service and 88 percent of OEHS graduates attended a two- or four-year school.

In 2015, East was named a Top 100 School by the Niche Report and an Illinois Democracy School.

The 2015 Robotics Team placed fourth in the world.

EAST has over 50 clubs and activities and 26 varsity athletic programs.

In 2015, 21 varsity programs had a 3.0 GPA.

The football team is 3-2.

2015-2016 is the first year for girls golf at East.

The 2015 girls bowling team finished fifth in the state.

In the 2014-2015 school year, East had 74 All Conference Athletes, three Conference Championship teams, 24 State qualifiers in 6 different sports and seven All State Athletes.

More than 20 athletes signed to compete at the college level.
