Women robbing people at knifepoint in South Chicago, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are warning residents about women who are robbing people at knifepoint after two recent attacks in the South Chicago neighborhood.

Police say one of the attacks occurred around midnight in the 8900-block of S. Commercial Avenue. The other happened at 7 p.m. in the 7800-block of South Shore Drive.

In each incident, two or three young women armed with a knife or a switchblade robbed people by force, police said. No injuries were reported.

Police are reminding residents to be aware of their surroundings. They say if you are confronted, remain calm and comply with their demands.
