Man charged with attempted murder of wife in Mt. Prospect

MT. PROSPECT, Ill. (WLS) -- Police say a 29-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder in the northwest suburbs after choking his wife.

On Friday afternoon, the Mount Prospect Police Department arrested Prettiest Davis, 29, of the 1500-block of West Dempster, who was later charged with one count of aggravated domestic battery, which was upgraded in court Tuesday to attempted murder.

After receiving a 911 call at 4:45 p.m. Friday, officers located Davis and his unconscious wife.

The victim said Davis had strangled her with his hands during an argument, causing her to lose consciousness.

Davis' bond was set at $150,000.
