Chicago police districts hosting Halloween events

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Some police districts in Chicago will host haunted houses this Halloween, while others will be passing out candy to kids. It's all part of an effort to give kids a safe option for trick-or-treating this weekend.

Here's the full list of the Halloween events sponsored by the Chicago Police Dept:

Grand Crossing (3rd) District:

On Saturday, October 31st, Grand Crossing (3rd) District police officers will welcome trick-or-treaters and pass out candy at the 3rd District Station - 7040 S. Cottage Grove, from 3 pm - 5 pm.

South Chicago (4th) District:

On Saturday, October 31st, South Chicago (4th) District police officers will host a Haunted House from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the 4th District Station - 2255 E. 103rd St.

Calumet (5th) District:

On Saturday, October 31st, Calumet (5th) District police officers will host a Haunted House from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the 5th District Station - 727 E. 111th St. Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

Ogden (10th) District:

On Saturday, October 31st, Ogden (10th) District police officers will host a Halloween Movie Party for community youth at the 10th District Station - 3315 W. Ogden, from 2 pm to 6 pm.

Harrison (11th) District:

On Saturday, October 31st, Harrison (11th) District police officers will be hosting a Halloween Celebration with station decorations and free movie, popcorn and candy to community youth under 17 yrs of age at the 11th District Station - 3151 W. Shakespeare (14th) District:

On Saturday, October 31st, Shakespeare (14th) District police officers will be hosting a Halloween Celebration along the Bloomingdale Trail from 3 pm - 5 pm. Admission is free but parents/guardians must accompany children. The 3:00 pm event will be at Burgos Park. The 4:00 pm event will be held at Churchill Park.

Albany Park (17th) District:

On Saturday October 31st, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Officers will be handing out candy to the children and crime prevention tips to the adults in the 017th District Community Room - 4650

N. Pulaski.

Lincoln (20th) District:

On Saturday, October 31st, Lincoln (20th) District police officers will host a Halloween Costume Contest and will be distributing treat bags from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm at the 20th District Station - 5400 N. Lincoln.

Morgan Park (22nd) District:

On Saturday, October 31st, Morgan Park (22nd) District police officers will be host a Halloween Movie Night at the 22nd District Station - 1900 W. Monterey, from 4 pm to 6 pm. Reserve your space by calling 312-745-0620.

Rogers Park (24th) District:

The 024th District and Edgewater Senior Center will be hosting a Senior Halloween Dance Party. Light refreshments will be served. There is a $2 cost for the dance.

Grand Central (25th) District:

On Friday, October 31st, Grand Central (25th) District police officers will host a Haunted House for children 12 and under (chaperone required) and will be distributing treat bags from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm at the 25th District Station Community Room - 5555 W. Grand Ave.
