CHICAGO (WLS) -- A comfort dog received a well-deserved honor from the Chicago Crime Commission on Wednesday.

Mitchell and two members of the Lake County state's attorney's office are this year's Paws of Distinction Award winners.

The 2-year-old lab helps calm children as they prepare to testify in trials and does the same kind of therapy for veterans appearing in front of a judge.
