CHICAGO (WLS) -- Construction is scheduled to continue along Lake Shore Drive next week as lane closures are expected along the roadway's Oak Street S-curve for resurfacing.

Weather permitting, northbound Lake Shore Drive traffic will detoured at Randolph from 8:15 p.m.-5:45 a.m. Nov. 9-10, officials said. From Randolph, traffic will be detoured westbound to Michigan Avenue and then northbound onto Lake Shore Drive via the Oak Street entrance ramp. Ramps at Randolph, Wacker and Grand will be closed, but all southbound lanes will remain open during this time.

During the same time period on Nov. 11-12, southbound Lake Shore Drive traffic will be detoured at Michigan Avenue, officials said. From Michigan, traffic will be detoured south to Randolph and then east back to Lake Shore Drive. During this time, access at Chicago and Chestnut will be closed but all northbound lanes will remain open.

Officials say periodic single lane closures between North and Grand avenues are also scheduled for next week between 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

During these times, motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes to Lake Shore Drive, including the Dan Ryan and Kennedy expressways.
