CHICAGO (WLS) -- A letter from the Illinois Campaign for Political Reform and other groups like the Better Government Association asked Gov. Bruce Rauner and legislative leaders to meet and discuss the budget stalemate.

That letter resulted in a plan to convene a meeting on Nov. 18, and a new column by the BGA's Andy Shaw will look at how the meeting is shaping up, some roadblocks, and the organization's hopes for a serious agenda.
