Missing endangered man returned safe to Springfield area, police say

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WLS) -- Springfield police have cancelled an alert for a missing endangered man after they say he returned back to the area.

Don Shadley, 80, was last seen in Springfield Wednesday night but was reported missing Thursday. Police say he suffers from dementia, and it was believed that he may be driving a silver 2010 Chevrolet four-door to the Chicago area.
